Postcard says on front: 'The Mystery Ship at Manchester'.
On the back: 'Uncle Billy Matthew's mystery ship, WWII'.
I wonder if it's the ship that became HMS Fidelity?

Doesn't seem to resemble any of the "Special Service" vessels commissioned during WW2.

I've looked closely at the flag, and it could well be a white ensign, as the base of the flag near the hoist looks much lighter than a red duster.

Interesting to see the old paddle tug at the stern. I remember one called the Old Trafford maybe Bob, the ex.MSC tugman can confirm.

I can only go on what's written on the back(WWII), and the person I bought it from--Billy Matthews was his uncle. I wondered if it was one of the Hogarth 'Barons', or even an early Manchester Liner? A lot of ships built between 1900-1930 of similar design. Masts look to be telescopic. Could be a double name?
