No lifeboats - I wonder if they are going to re-engine her.............

She has been impounded for months (almost a year since she was last in full service)...after major mechanical issues and failed inspections.

Well spotted Bob. I was too busy clicking away and trying to keep dry to notice a meer detail as missing lifeboats heh heh. Several interesting vessels spotted during this latest cruise so watch my gallery for future inclusions.
Thanks for the input Shamrock. Hope your next cruise is better than ours was.
Cheers
Dick

Last year when her sister, Discovery, was having some serious issues of her own, it was thought that Pacific might be cannabalised for Discovery since Pacific was in Barcelona drydock at the time...this was back in the summer of 2008 after Discovery's awful Baltic/Scandinavia season. Pacific was found to have engine troubles very similar to Discovery along with serious metal worm in her lifeboat davits (amongst other things). Quail then chartered Gemini as Pacific's replacement for this year and in all honesty I really cannot see Pacific coming back into service as she is not 2010 compliant....she would make a reasonable spares ship for Discovery though.
In respect to your recent cruise, Dick, feel free to drop by the new cruise site and do a review of it there...warts and all...I'm sure it would be helpful to others thinking of booking the ship/itinerary (Thumb)

Thanks for the info - I had the good fortune to sail on them both in the late 70's when they were the Island and Pacific Princess's - they were great little ships and fun to be on.
