I'm pretty sure this is "Port Denison" of 1918 that was bombed and sunk about 6 miles N.E. of Peterhead in 1940. She looks like she has a load of troops aboard in this picture.

Intersting picture Roy,
Wonder why she has her name on the sign board o top of the 'portakabin' accomodation aft given that her hull is wartime gray with her name painted out , ID in convoy perhaps

The "Port Denison" was the first ship to be lost in WWII by the Port Line. As the commodore ship in a convoy of 44 ships outward bound from the UK and heading into the Atlantic she was bombed by a single German bomber off the Aberdeenshire coast in September 1940 and the ship sank sometime after with the loss of 16 lives.
