Port of Astoria circa 1965

The nearest ship (at Pier 3) is Japanese (Iino Kaiun?), the next further (at Pier 2) might be from Taiwan (Sincere Navigation?), the third furthest (Pier 1) is Japanese (Kawasaki funnel). The ship in the river looks to be German (Hapag Lloyd).

Hi,
'P3' profile ship (pier 2) could be the Japanese SANYO MARU No.1 (1946 / 9786 gt / 5313476) of Sanwa Kisen KK. I don't think she had a sister ship as she was a rebuilt ship.
Regards,
Yvon

Still not very sure but doubtful if the 1st ship ' P3 ' is Lino Kaiun, the funnel looks like a Swedish one, pier 2
also looks like Swedish, p1 doesn't seem to look like Japanese, however I may be wrong

P3 may not be an Iino Kaiun funnel, might be IMC (International Maritime Carriers) of Hong Kong, the bow seems to have Chinese or Kanji characters. P2 and P3 may both be Swedish-built, it was common then for companies in Taiwan and HK to buy used ships.
