i still think the twin uptakes completely ruin her look
like comment in another post about Oriana the design was a coming together of several good ideas from other ships
why the chief deisgner needed something of Rotterdam on QM is beyond me
even the QE2 style funnel is a little odd looking

The QE2 style funnel looks ridiculous when it's squashed, as here, although I was never fond of it to start with.
It seems to have become a "Cunard" brand now, all three ships have it. A good example of what it looks like without the pointless windscoops and flaring at the sides is on the new Arcadia - she has a "Cunard" funnel but without the aforementioned bits, and much better it looks too.

The funnel was apparently suppose to be significantly taller but bridge clearance prevented that. Also the large engine space at the base of the funnel further reduced it's height. The aft-galley exhaust pipes on QM2 remind me a little of ones on ss France though not as sleek. The following view of QM2 is far more flattering.

The funnel would just give an appearance of being taller if the wind scoops were removed.
