Hi Terry,
The moderator must have ruled the first word of the name i wrote as politically incorrect. The company name is Nigerian National Line. The short version is N***** Nash. He only allowed 'Nash', can you guess the word he removed? Anyway your shipmates would all be natives of Nigeria.
Yes its a nice looking ship and I like your work with the history. Good work Terry.
Sorry about the freezing UK weather. That one of the reasons I decided to come to Australia. Sitting here this morning in T shirt and shorts.
Question: why do you call yourself "music man"
Hi Terry,
Have you been in hibernation for four years?
We are still waiting for your reply to this..
My guess is that you play a mouth organ as I do...
Regards,
Stan
I was R/O on this ship, callsign 5NPB, December 1969 to April 1970, joined in Rotterdam, followed by Hamburg, Antwerp, several West African ports, including 3 weeks in Lagos and back to Europe. Apart from the trade route, she was one of the better ships that I sailed on.
She has just come from drydock in that condition.
I worked on all those ships as a rigger for many years and they
were far less maintained by the crews as were the old Greek
tramps of the time..
And Terry we still await a reply - 'music man?'
Regards,
Stan
