TORRENS

MV Torrens departing Bluff June 1977 with myself onboard for the Big OE ! (Overseas Experience)

Little did I know I would spend 26 years of my life in Bluff or make a friend for life out of the person who took this photograph.

Many of his photographs will be posted in due course.

Dear Hasse

She is one of the Torrens class the others being Taronga, Tamerlane and Tirranna, all lengthened in 1971.

Wilhelmsen built three classes at this time, the last in a long line of traditional cargo liners.

The others were the

Talabot class; Talabot,Taiko, Trinidad later Tamano, and Taimyr.

Tyr class Tyr and Toro.

Finally in the late 70's they built a multi purpose class with Stulken derricks

The Tsu class Tsu,Terrier, Tennessee,Thermopylae,Tysla, and Talisman.

Thank´s Torrens (Thumb)
Is slowly rebuilding a plastic model of the Trinidad, and is looking for detail close up photos of this class.
Also searching for the colors on her decks.
Regards Hasse.
