1962, eastbound across the Arafura Sea towards Torres Strait, bright moonlight night and I just had to try a time exposure with my brand new Kodak Retinette 1A camera. As you can see by the star the ship was rolling slightly!

Nice photo that. You did well to hold her steady for so long ;-)

Did wonder for a bit whether that was the correct colour balance until I noticed the star/planet, which, unless its betelgeuse, should probably be white.
I see the image was saved using Photoshop. It should have an automatic levels function you can use to compensate for the transparency's colour wandering a bit over time.

"The GIMP" is a good free alternative for image editing.

Gents, Thanks for good advice here. I have been using the autolevels on a lot of recent digital photos to remove the UV effect and it has been particularly effective. I guess it boils down to available time. Working full time at the moment on a pilotage project is not giving me enough time to get stuck into the more enjoyable aspects like this. I will take up the "Gimp" advice and have a look at it as all the reference manuals for Photoshop tend towards the pro rather than the amatuer.
Thanks and regards,
Wal
