Aquitania

This view shows the fore deck of the Aquitania during her construction at John Browns Yard in early 1913. The structure that would become the ship's winch island is seen in the foreground. The ship's foremast would installed near the center of this structure. Notice that the two tall king posts that stood forward of the winch island have not yet been installed, but they would be in place by the time the hull was launched in late April.

You mean 1913, not 1914 right? Looks like she is still on the ways. In that case the battlecruiser pictured is HMAS Australia, as Tiger hadn't been launched yet either

Hi Chris, sorry it took so long to reply, but I'm visiting family out in California, and attending a wedding. Hope to get over to see the QM while we're here. You're correct about the year, and corrections have been made in the description. I'll let your comment about the battlecruiser seen on the left stand as part of the description because I have no idea what warship was being fitted out at the time this pic was taken. Thanks for providing that info, as it's new to me.
