Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, Debra....I can hear the diesel engine throbbing gently as the 'Islander' glides in....I am lost for words to describe your magnificently reflective sea (I love reflections)....Oh yes...this is stunning....joy of joys for an islander like me! It was a foretaste of heaven to see these fine wooden vessels when they would anchor overnight in the bay below my home in Tiree. Their planking was incredibly lovely, as it swept upwards towards the stem. You have caught it all here. Your style has sharpened somehow, and it is even better...if that is possible. You deserve a medal for producing this with such sore fingers. I hope the finished painting will act as a great therapeutic medicine for you and for all who see it. Keep going! Great stuff. Donald.
Oh thankyou kind Sirs !!!
Fred, Deebee Harrisman and Donald...thanks so much for the comments !!!
I wasn't going to upload more Art, but was asked to show one I still have to put on here yet- and since I had just finished this one I thought I'd upload that one first, then the other one.....so I suppose that's me uploading again as other still to go on....
(a wilder sea type) but after that I am changing medium so it doesn't get boring....can't be having that can we !
Harrisman I would emigrate to Harris in an instant if I had the chance !!! Nothing like a wild windy island ! Saying that it is kinda like that here lately as we are getting the weather from the West !
Donald...it was just more of the 'tiny brush' since there was so much more detail to do...I daresay just like the intricate work you are doing on your model which I also can't wait to see !
You are all too kind as I see some really fantastic work on here which I could never emmulate !!!
I am glad this one gone down well though, and yes it was a painful painting and my fingers are still protesting ! Another prescription of anti-inflammitories came very in handy and since they are now 'free' in Scotland I can't really complain too much can I !!!
Debra
Hello Debra,
and as Sister Eleff stated in the very first post, welcome back.
Your comments and paintings have been much missed, and what a wonderful painting to return with.
This really is maritime art at it`s very best.
regards, Donald.
ps.Harris weather has been changeable recently, yes,..wild, wet and windy! Nothing new there then!!!
I haven't been on here for ages Debra...glad I looked in though and saw this one. What a lovely job you've done(as always)..bonny painting of a bonny boat by a bonny girl...there's your compliment for the day!! Aye,you've got Mr.Roper's vessel just spot on there, couldn't be bettered.
Thankyou so much Donald H, Carle and Ronnie !!!
Donald that is very nice of you to say that...you are TOO kind !!!
Glad you like it Carle !
Ronnie, I don't know if Mr Roper has seen it yet unless he's been on his facebook home page lately, but it could have been off to the USA as someone over there really wanted it.. but I told them it wasn't for sale and I have kept it here, on my own wall, as still trying to get a collection built up (very slowly I might add lol) I always think the last might be the last... so I am loathe to send any of them away lol.
Anyway you are all too kind and it is much appreciated as always (Thumb)
Debra
Hey Debra; so great to see you back with your unique and exciting style. Your work has so much life to it; inviting one into the picture. Thanks for the lift.
Thanks for your comment Don, that is really kind ...I don't know what is happening here as that one was uploaded 2 years ago and not uploaded any Artwork in a long long time, anywhere. ...Must be a thing where old posts are brought up every now and then.
Hope all is well with you
Debra
