Cheers Raymond, aye she is coming along. The Aberdeen connection is still very strong, the Society is registered in Aberdeen and our staunchest supporter has a business in the city. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future we will be able to steam her to her 'home' port. Now THAT would be a day to remember!!

Raymond, nice to hear about Ivor. I'm off down the ship today to get on with the yellow line, and I'll ask any of the guys if they remember Ivor as a couple of the guys sailed on her for a few years.
Morning
I was saddened to hear of Ivor Donaldson's passing.
He was my granda, Charlie Finlay's friend (also an engineer on SS Explorer who passed away late 80's); he often visited when they were both on leave and would tell me many stories of Orkney and taught me sign language. As a young girl I got to come on board and meet some of the crew.
Lovely to see the progress on the restoration project.
